Boise State University has announced a $2.5 million dollar gift towards the projected $5.5 million dollar renovation of the former East Jr. High near the intersection of Broadway and Warm Springs. This would come as a complete shock to streetcar proponents who would find it hard to believe that development could take place without a streetcar being present. The project is expected to be completed by 2011 - probably before any streetcar (if approved) turns a wheel in Boise.
