  1. Bieter has been to Wash DC and applied for TIGER stimulus funds (with the support of Sen. Mike Crapo)which are to be allocated this coming January. Congressman Mike Simpson sits on the 'Oversight & Government Reform Committee' which identifies and approves/disapproves earmarks and other porkbarrel spending. I believe emails voicing opposition asking each of them to block the funds allocation for this phony project is essential! Don't know if it will work, but this idiocy is worthy of their attention. Contact them via e-mail at:

  2. The following is an e-mail I received today from Mike Simpson regarding the e-mail I sent him in opposition to Bieter being awarded any funds for the streetcar:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Boise Streetcar Project. I appreciate hearing from you and having the opportunity to respond.

It is helpful to me to know your views about this project. I am working to provide the City of Boise with the tools to address congestion and future transportation needs, but I believe that any solution should be supported by those who live and work in the Treasure Valley. You can be confident that I will keep your thoughts about the Streetcar Project in mind as I work with local transportation officials on this and other projects.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact me about this issue. As your representative in Congress, it is important to me to know your thoughts and opinions about issues affecting our nation today. I also encourage you to visit my website, www.house.gov/simpson, to sign up for my e-newsletter and to read more about my views on a variety of issues.

    Sincerely,

    S

    Mike Simpson

    Member of Congress
